Daily Life Ltd

Is an arts and mental health organisation based in East London led by Artistic Director Bobby Baker.

We believe that people who have experienced mental health problems should be valued for their strengths, insight and creativity and that when they are, everyone benefits.

Our mission is to create powerful art and platforms that change the way people think about mental health. We work to transform how people see themselves and each other, and to stimulate dialogue that builds bridges of connection and understanding.

As an artist led organisation, our work is founded on the knowledge that people with personal experience of mental distress are uniquely able, as ‘experts by experience,’   to make exceptional new art and provoke new ways of seeing.

Paintings in Hospitals

We use visual art and creative activities to improve the health and wellbeing of patients, service users, carers and the public.

Established in London in 1959, we now work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We have developed a diverse art collection of almost 4,000 artworks and, as well as four artwork loan schemes, we now deliver art engagement projects and creative activities.

We do more than simply put paintings in hospitals. We believe that art has an important role to play in the healing process. Our research is contributing to the growing body of evidence that art improves wellbeing, and we are continually evaluating the impact and reach of our work.
